From the New York Times bestselling author of the Marked Men series comes an irresistible and suspenseful romance between a doctor who plays by the rules and the outlaw who breaks them in order to protect her.

Dr. Presley Baskin has always lived a quiet, calm life. Unfortunately, nothing about her life in Loveless, Texas—especially not the wild, rowdy, and impossibly close-knit Lawton family who've claimed her—is quiet or calm. Which is how loner Presley finds herself roped into patching up local bad boy Shot Caldwell against her better judgment. Presley wants nothing to do with the dangerous, brooding leader of the local outlaw motorcycle club. But when someone starts stalking her, Shot is the only person she trusts to help. Plus he owes her one...

Palmer 'Shot' Caldwell has always known his life isn't made for relationships. At least until shy, secretive, Presley reluctantly pulled a bullet out of him. He's oddly protective of the pretty doctor, so when she comes to him for help, hard-hearted Shot suddenly realizes there's nothing he wouldn't do to keep her safe.

I’d never been able to walk away from the search for retribution. My soul was restless until the proper price was paid.

I feel like I've been waiting FOREVER to finally have my hands on Shot's book, and after the ending in Unforgiven, that need went dang near rabid. Now first of all, if you're reading this as a standalone, you're doing yourself a huge disservice. Read the first two books. Even though each book focuses on a new couple, there's a continuing story arc that continues through each series and is concluded here. Everything that was set in motion in Justified finally gets brought to a head here.

If you've read the first two books, then you're already familiar with the suspense of the murder of Lawton patriarch. Presley is the half sister that her three siblings had no idea they had. After finding out that her best friend is a psychopath that's responsible for making her life a living hell and losing her mother, Presley's quiet existence imploded in a fiery blaze. Her stalker is still out there and wants her dead, and the Sons of Sorrow are in her debt for saving Shot's life.

After the peeks we get into SoS and Shot Caldwell, I was dying for more of the MC. However, if you're expecting a biker book, this is not that. The author made it clear that biker romance is something that she struggles with, so this book is in the same tone as the rest of the series. However, Shot is very much a biker and not a cowboy. He's the epitome of a bad boy. An outlaw that lives his life on his own terms and answers to no one. Presley is the opposite of him in every way, but he can't seem to stay away from here. Their chemistry is incendiary. These are two characters that always felt like outsiders in their own life, and their bond on that is strong. I loved the way they were there for each other.

There's quite a bit of suspense happening here with both Shot and Presley's life in danger by different people. Presley is still trying to figure out having siblings for the first time in her life and a man that's pursuing her that is the epitome of everything that she doesn't go for.

While I had hoped for more time and focus on the MC and the characters there, I still enjoyed this one quite a bit. I may have set my expectations on the MC a bit high, but I can't say I'm disappointed. This still hit the spot quite nicely and was a satisfying conclusion to a series that I've been invested in for some time.

With Blacklisted, Jay Crownover offers a tempting opposites attract romance about a by the book doctor and a bad boy biker who’s willing to do anything to keep her safe.

For the longest time, medical examiner Dr. Presley Baskin had lead a quiet life working and taking care of her mother, until her life was turned on its axis. Nothing would be the same after finding out she had three half siblings. Especially not once she helps save the life of the local motorcycle club’s president Shot Cadwell, a dark and sexy man who tends to talk on the opposite side of the law. But when her life is threatened, there’s no other man she trusts the most.

Shot was born and raised in a motorcycle club backdrop. Living on the edge, his priority and loyalty is to his brothers, he hates debts and has never considered having a relationship. But after Presley stitches him up he knows he owes her a favor and finds himself oddly protective of the woman who is his complete opposite. Can he protect her from the looming danger she’s in and convince her to take a chance on them?

I liked Shot from the moment I met him in a previous installment and could wait to get to know him. But better still, I couldn’t wait to read how the rough around the edges and dangerously alluring man would fall in love.

Crownover expertly shapes the off the charts attraction between Shot and Presley that blooms into swoon worthy love around a heart-pounding plot and surrounded by well-developed characters. But more than anything, Crownover nails both Shot and Presley’s change from total extremes into an emotional and unforgettable romance I could not put down.

Blacklisted is book #3 of the Loveless, Texas series by Jay Crownover. It’s a standalone, biker romance, told from both points of view with a happy ending.

After meeting Presley in the previous book I was really interested in finding out more about her. Her life pretty much blew up in her face after finding out about half siblings, her mother dying, her ex-best friend going psycho and now being dragged into the world of the Sons of Sorrow MC after helping their president, Shot. Shot has his own issues and someone after him but that doesn't stop him from stepping in and helping Presley.

Presley and Shot had undeniable chemistry and I really liked getting to see their differences and how they made them perfect for each other. Presley was used to a boring life with a normal routine but Shot definitely shook that routine up even more than her stalker did. The emotions were high in this book and it had me captivated with every turn of the page as I got to see more and more of this couple finding how they fit together.

Shot may be a bad boy biker but he had that heart of a cowboy and that's what this book focuses on. Bottom line, it was a brilliant story that kept me intrigued and had me falling in love with both characters. It's one I definitely recommend reading and would say that this is a series that needs to be read in order to really enjoy it.

Blacklisted
is the classic opposites attract kind of romance. Shot is the President of the local Motorcycle Club/Gang and Presley is a doctor for the State’s Medical Examiner’s office, assigned to investigate deaths, suspicious and otherwise. So, while Shot is on the murkier side of the law, Presley is sworn to uphold it, but the heart wants what the heart wants…

These two are thrown together when Presley is called out by her half sister to tend to Shot after a life threatening injury and neither can stop thinking about the other after the incident. Presley has her own problems; a psycho trying to take Presley’s life apart because of a jealous obsession, and anyone close to Presley usually suffers blowback. The start of this played out in the last book, which is why I think it’s better to read the series in order. I guess in a pinch this would work as a standalone, too, but you’d miss the backstory of the Lawton’s, Presley’s newly discovered family, and the previous stories are really good!

I’ve been loving this series from the beginning, but I was super excited to get to Presley and Shot’s romance because I love the opposites attract troupe! Blacklisted did not disappoint. Presley and Shot had oodles of chemistry, and I was hooked into their little back and forth dance, mostly with Shot chasing and Presley trying to resist. So much fun! However, Presley’s psycho stalker, the things she pulls and then the question of when she would strike next kept me glued to the pages as well. I read the story in a 24-hour period, because I couldn’t put it down!

He's oddly protective of the pretty doctor, so when she comes to him for help, hard-hearted Shot suddenly realizes there's nothing he wouldn't do to keep her safe.

This installment picks right up from the end of the last book (Unforgiven). I think that reading this series in order will provide the best enjoyment because you would have followed the characters journey thus far.

In this story, Dr. Presley Baskin is still reeling from the revelation that she was the illegitimate daughter and half-sibling to the Lawton’s. And on top of that, her “best” friend Ashby had been gaslighting her and now stalking her. Presley was placed in protective custody because Ashby was trying to kill her, but Presley has had enough of hiding. With the help of Shot Caldwell, Presley plans to help catch Ashby and reclaim her life. As these two opposites band together to stop her former friend, they also find out that they have a strong attraction to each other. With so much danger and uncertainty, can Shot protect Presley from her enemy and keep their relationship from intensifying?

First of all, this story works on so many levels. There are characters that have been carefully developed over the course of the prior books. Then this story in told using a dual POV so we are given equal turns in Presley and Shot’s mind. I felt like I understood their values and motivations, so even though they were opposites, they fit each other perfectly. They had serious chemistry so be prepared for sexual heat in this book. I also love the interplay with the prior couples from the prequel all the way to the last book. This book completes the full picture of the Lawton family and their respective loves. That is a common thread with Jay Crownover stories, they always have family at the heart of the plot. If you haven’t tried this author, I highly recommend this series because as a storyteller she combines a bit of mystery and suspense with romance. But as I said in the beginning, I suggest reading her books in order.

I want my own tattooed badass who falls for me or even an alpha Texas Ranger. I have not read the first two books in this series, but after reading this one I am very interested and invested in reading the other characters story. I thought the book was interesting and there was for sure never a dull moment.

I cannot even imagine going through what Presley and the rest of her newly found family have experienced. I probably would become a homebody that never leaves the house in constant fear and anxiety. Unless...... my very own Shot was there for me and never left me alone😏

Blacklisted was so fantastic! I was on the edge of my seat, hooked the entire time. It was an exciting and passionate read with wonderful characters and an outstanding build. I couldn’t get enough!

I loved Presley and Shot and the whole opposites attract vibe they had happening. I love how they met, and the intenseness between them. Presley seems so buttoned up and in a bad place and I loved her metamorphosis over the course of the story. I really liked her relationship with Shot, how their attraction grew, and how she started to put herself out there. I loved Shot. He's sexy, sweet, and protective but alpha and hard. I loved their vulnerable moments and when feelings were shared, it felt so raw and real.

There was a thrilling suspense element happening that I really enjoyed. I loved learning all the details about Presley's history and all she was going through. I liked learning about Shot as well and the club issues he was dealing with. There was an excellent amount of drama and action happening that made for an addicting read.

I loved all the different relationships happening with the Lawton’s and Presley. I loved how they embraced her and brought her into the fold, especially Kody. It was a beautiful thing. There were some great updates about previous couples as well and I was so happy to get them.

This was such an exceptional story. It felt intense yet inviting and I loved the mystery element that was in play. This was an engaging read full of drama, emotion, and love. I loved the build and the characters, and this amazing family that came together. This is an outstanding series!

AVAILABLE NOW!

Blacklisted is the last installment in Jay Crownover's Loveless, Texas series, and oh boy does it end with a bang!

If it weren't for Presley's assistance (the Lawton's half sister), Shot the President of the Sons of Sorrow MC would have died. From that moment on Shot cannot resist being close to the docter as he is drawn to her. But of course, he pretends it's because he feels indebted to her instead.

Presley is under stress. With finding out about her half siblings and the fact that her best friend is a psychopath who was responsible for the death of both her parents, she lives her life in hiding and under the watchful eye of her older brother, Case.

Now fair warning, please don't go into this novel thinking it is an MC read because it is not. The author has noted that MC books are something she struggles with. No matter, you still get Shot, an outlaw 100% dedicated to his club.

Presley and him are opposites yet their chemistry is undeniable. Shot lives his life on the edge while Presley goes by the rules; nevertheless, he gives her the courage to stand up to her enemies and fight for herself.

This is a book I recommend reading but definitely start the books in order so you get a sense of the characters and tie-ins as the story concludes with this one. Also, prepare to be on the edge of your seat! Both Presley and Shot's lives are in danger from people who wish to cause them harm.

Action-packed and filled with intrigue, Blacklisted gets pretty intense and interesting; so much so, you won't want to put it down!

Slow, delicious burn….

This was Shot and Presley’s story and it was everything I wanted in their story! A slow, delicious burn, for sure. A tantalizing look at MC life. Great characters, intriguing suspense, a steamy romance. Yeah, this was a great, great story… If you’ve read this series than Presley and Shot aren’t new to you. While their romance can be read as a standalone the challenges they faced, especially with family, would be even clearer if you knew all the background. Believe me, you don’t want to miss one little nuance…

Presley was independent, dangerously so at times, once again on the sidelines as she tried to figure out her place in her new family. Shot proved to be a great bridge to family, as well as a lethal protector and (surprisingly) sweet companion… Yeah, that knocked Presley’s (and mine) socks off as his stoic exterior melted under Presley’s calm, quiet presence. He craved her, just as she craved him, and their descent into love, spurred by a favour or two, was full of spicy dialogue and deadly suspense…

I don’t want this series to end. Ever. The author must continue on, finding stories for everyone in these stories. Top, maybe? But really, author’s choice… Please…. ~Diane, 5 stars

4.5⭐️ This is book 3 in the series. I have read the previous two and I really think it’s necessary to get a good understanding of the background story. Presley and Shot make an unexpected match. She’s a straight and narrow rule follower and he’s a ex-military, president of the local biker club. Shot helps protect Presley from her psycho ex-best friend who is trying to kill her. Even though their complete opposites, they can’t deny their attraction to each other. The sexual tension is palpable and they have some explosive chemistry. All of Presley’s half siblings play a large role in this book. I like series continuers because of the updates on the previous couples. Plenty of tension, action and smoking scenes. You can even add in a little medical drama, which the author gives a full disclaimer later that the timeline isn’t realistic. It was a great series with well developed characters and addictive plot lines. I always wonder about book covers when they completely don’t match the character. The cover shows a very clean cut cowboy, however the main character was a built, tattoo-covered biker who always wore a leather vest. It just stood out bc the cover doesn’t represent the main character at all.

It feels like so long ago that I read the rest of this series that when I initially picked this book up i couldn't remember who Presley and Shot were. And then i read the prologue and it all came flooding back because this series has been awesome.

From the first book I've been invested in each and every sibling and getting the surprise twist of Presley and all of her drama just added so much. From her first introduction I have loved her. She was different in a way that was truly individual. Her life experiences had made her this sweet, smart, caring, strong woman.

I really had my reservations about Shot for her. First there was the fact he was so close to Kody and I wasn't sure how I felt about that. Then there was the whole bikie thing that put him at odds with the other half of her family. But damn did he make me forget every doubt I had with the way he was so all about Presley.

Shot and Presley learning how to be together was a thing of beauty. Every part of their story had me flipping the pages wondering what was going to happen next. I wanted them both to work because they were both so deserving of being loved.

This whole book was awesome. The suspense, the romance, the chemistry, the characters and everything in between. I couldn't put it down and I am so sad the series is over because I have fallen so hard for the whole family.

❧ Jay Crownover has always had a knack for bringing opposites together and somehow making them work and Shot and Presley were not different.

❧ The first 30% of this story dragged for me. A lot of it was just setting up for what would go down in the later half of the book and I didn't really care for it.

❧ I enjoyed getting to know Presley better and seeing her build a relationship with the Lawton siblings and loved how they all grew to be so protective of her.

❧ The chemistry between Shot and Presley was probably one of my favorite things about this book! Who would've thought that a doctor and a motorcycle club leader would work so well together, but somehow they do, and I really wish this book was longer so we could've had more scenes of them together—without all the trying to stay alive dramatics.

❧ I felt like the climax of the book was so rushed and some parts came out of left field. Like Crownover was trying to tie up two loose ends with the person who was after Presley and the person who was after Shot and I wasn't a fan.

Blacklisted may have left me feeling a bit unsatisfied, but I still enjoyed the Loveless, Texas series overall and I'm glad we got these characters' stories.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

“I'm the one who is going to purposely cross your path. I'm never going to walk the other way when I see you coming. I'm going to head right toward you.”

The third and final installment in the Loveless, Texas series about the Lawton siblings focuses on Dr. Presley Baskins, the half-sibling new to the family. Blacklisted starts right where the second in the series, Unforgiven left off. Presley's half-sister Kody called her to come help a man who was shot. The man turns out to be Palmer “Shot” Caldwell, the president of the motorcycle club Sons of Sorrow. Presley saves his life and is told the club owes her a favor and she can collect anytime. Shot gets antsy after three months of Presley not calling in the favor and ends up staking out her apartment to try and get a read on who his club owes a favor. When Presley comes out to confront him about stalking her, they have an instant pull between them, they also get shot at and with both thinking they were the target, the story takes off from there.

I'd spent so long being calm and serene for the comfort of others, I'd forgotten how cathartic anger could be when it was called for.

This would be technically possible to start without reading the first two (there's also a novella) but you'd miss out on family dynamics and the latter half of this was a lovely wrap-up and send-off of the series that newbies wouldn't get the full emotional impact as much as readers of the series would. I was kind of surprised at how calm and measured the characters, story, and pace was in this. While Shot is the president of Sons of Sorrow, we get almost zero of any motorcycle club story or atmosphere. There are a couple scenes with his vice president Top and their friendship, a mention of dealings out of the country, some prospects guarding Presley, and Presley dealing with not knowing where Shot is because of club business. Shot talks about how the club is a family for him but without scenes with and about, I got no emotional connection from that aspect. I did like how the story focused on Presley and Shot's emerging relationship. They're both closer to forty and I think that came through with how quiet and thoughtful their relationship was at times. The suspense and action lingered on the edges and came from Presley's issue with a former friend that was introduced in the second in the series.

“When I'm with her, things get quiet. I can hear myself think.”

When Presley was brought into the series, the Lawton siblings had no idea about her and then circumstances lined up to make them think that Presley killed their dad to collect her inheritance. The circumstances turned out to be a friend of Presley's named Ashby who has now gone full single white female. Presley got a promotion that would make her Chief Medical Examiner and while Ashby had been content subtly undercutting Presley through their whole friendship, she freaks out and really starts ramping things up. Presley grew-up with just her mother who suffered from kidney disease and this, coupled with how intelligent she was, isolated her and made her a bit of a workaholic. It's only when she suspects that Ashby might have murdered her mother that Presley lets her anger free and decides to leave protective custody and become proactive in getting Ashby finally caught. There's some help from Shot, acting on a favor Presley asks of him, setting guards on her, and helping her be stronger. Presley's half-brother's, a sheriff and Texas Ranger, come up with an idea to have Shot act all lovey dovey with Presley to make Ashby jealous and try to flush her out that way. They want him to get Ashby alone and try to get her to admit on wire all the things she did but they also don't want him to tell Presley about it. As you can guess, this set-up makes for a sure late act disturbance full of danger, mistrust, and hurt.

“I see all the things you don't see. I see how strong you are. I see how resilient you are. I see how brave you are. I see how sexy you are. All the things you've always overlooked. I see them clear as day.”

While I missed more of Shot's background and interaction with his club brothers, I was pleasantly surprised at how sweet he was; he delivers some truly sigh worthy lines to Presley. The suspense lingering on the edges did its job to create some tension and get our leads together but the single white female aspect got a bit wild at times. The ending provided for a pleasantly gratifying close to the Lawton siblings' stories that will leave series readers satisfying and smiling.

Blacklisted is finally here!!! I have been waiting for Shot and Presley's book (im)patiently. Motorcycle club, girl on the run with a stalker, and a murder mystery?! Hell yes!

Presley saved Shot's life and he is a bit protective of her. This is unlike him because he has always been a "no relationship" type of guy. I love Presley as a heroine. Her life blew up in her face and she is trying to rebuild in Loveless with a family she didn't know about. She is quiet and introverted, but brilliant. Shot is her opposite and I think that is perfect.

There is plenty of danger and suspense mixed with the romance between Shot and Presley. I think its important to read the previous books first in order to understand the family dynamics and the town dynamic! This is probably my favorite book in the series so trust me, reading books 1 and 2 are totally worth it!

Blacklisted delivers an explosive romance and engaging suspense to create an unputdownable binge read!

One-sentence review: Brilliant opposites-attract romance with plenty of suspense, action and steam!

Full Review:

In Blacklisted we return to Loveless, Texas for the final book in the series, and it definitely goes out with a bang.

Dr Presley Baskin used to have a normal, boring life. Then her mother dies, she discovers a new family in the Lawton siblings and her best friend is out to destroy her life. And into the midst of this all this upheaval walks Shot Caldwell, the President of the local motorcycle gang, who brings with him an entirely new sort of chaos.

I honestly love Crownover’s heroes. They are such protective, strong men who turn into absolute putty around their heroines. Out of all them though Shot is by far my favourite. From the moment he arrived he stole the show and I’ve been wondering since he was first introduced if he were going to get his book–and I am so glad we did!

It’s honestly quite hard to classify this book in terms of tropes. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a cowboy romance, even though it is set in Texas and there are definitely Stetsons and cowboy boots present. I also wouldn’t call it an MC, because although there are some outlaw-ish things going on, they never take over even though Shot is the president of a motorcycle gang. I actually wished there’d been more because I was so interested in the Sons of Sorrow and wanted to know more about them.

I loved the way that Crownover made these two fit. They are total opposites, just like the previous couples before them and at the beginning I had no idea how their romance was going to work. But somehow they do and they’re absolutely perfect together. Their love story is steamy, and the sex is hot, yet at the same time Shot is a perfect gentleman towards Presley, especially in her more vulnerable times. It made me appreciate him all the more as a hero.

There is a lot of intense action in this book, more than in the others I would say. There is someone lurking on the edges out to destroy Presley’s life and you can feel that menace and suspense throughout. It’s a lot to take in but I felt Crownover balanced the action and the romance quite nicely.

If you’re a fan of romantic suspense, or have the previous books in the series I highly urge you to read this one. And if you’ve not visited Loveless yet what are you waiting for? You’re in for a hell of a ride with the Lawton siblings!

Okay, first we have to talk about this book. This is not a Cowboy Book or a Biker book. But it is also a Cowboy/Biker book.

I know, it's kind of confusing. Neither our h or H are ranchers, but they live in small town Texas and our h is related to pretty strong cowboys so there are lots of Cowboy around them. Now our H is the president of a motorcycle club, but this book does not go in to club details. So while he is a biker, this is not a biker book.

This book is about two completely different souls falling for each other. A bad boy biker and a quiet ME. There is suspense and mystery. There is a long-time stalker out to make sure that Presley is miserable. And a man out for revenge against the club.

This book keeps you on your toes the whole time, but in a less invasive/angsty way then some books. It kept me sucked in all day, and I got a lot done around my house. So really it was a perfect book.

While it wasn't exactly biker or cowboy it still had a little bit of both those vibes running though it.

"...while I might live in a place called Loveless, I didn't actually have to live a life that was loveless."

I've been looking forward to this one more than the others because... Shot . Badass biker, president of the Sons of Sorrow motorcycle club. Enough said, right? I was worried my expectations might be too high, but that was not the case. He's everything and more than I hoped for.

Presley is a reserved and quiet nerdy girl. The exact opposite of what you'd expect to attract an outlaw, right? But, they didn't meet under normal circumstances. They were thrown together by chance and once that happened there was no turning back. She saved his life, and now he owes her. At least that's what he keeps telling himself. That must be why he can't stay away from her, right?

Let me tell you, waiting for those two to finally give in to the pull and allow themselves to do more than think about touching gave me a few more gray hairs. I could feel the heat and it wasn't a hot flash. The chemistry between Shot and Pres was explosive. I enjoyed every second of the ride.

I bet you are wondering like I was, why is the book is called Blacklisted? I wish I could tell you, but what would be the fun in that? You need to experience it for yourselves. So good...sigh. ♡

I LOVED this opposittes attract romance filled with steam, suspense and plain old feel good romance. Shot was the President of a MC club in a samll town. He walked on the wrong side of the law and was all kinds of sexy and dangerous. I loved seeing a man like this fall in love and his fierce protection over Presley had me absolutely swooning!

Ever since Justified, I have been curious about a certain lawless biker side character. I was more than intrigued to get my hands on his book especially when he was paired with a woman who couldn't be more opposite. This made for a fabulous culmination to a strong series.

Blacklisted is the fourth entry, counting the novella, and the third book in the Loveless, Texas series. It doesn't make a good place to jump in as the ongoing suspense thread and the build of the circle of characters was introduced earlier in the series.

Dr. Presley Baskin's clinical, ordered world is now in upheaval. Her very life is at stake with her psycho former best friend out to take everything she has in life and then kill her. Her new-found family, the Lawton siblings, want to protect her and keep her close, but she's used to being alone and holds them at arms' length afraid to let them inside her high walls that keep her from getting hurt. But, there is one person who won't stay firmly placed outside her walls. She saved Shot Caldwell's life and now the motorcycle club president plans to stick around until he returns the favor. If only the man didn't rouse her libido along with all her emotions. And, then he has the gall to see right into her soul and call her on the way she's been hiding from life and not just from the crazy woman trying to get at her.

Shot has no idea what to do with the interest he feels in the cool, collected medical examiner who saved his life. She doesn't fit into his world nor he into hers. She works for the law that he tends to break on a fairly frequent basis. But, there is something about Presley that sets her apart and draws her to him. Shot is the first to realize that, in their own ways, they don't fit in with those around them. And, then the danger comes close and Shot realizes he isn't planning on going anywhere and he will teach this fellow loaner that it's okay to accept help and let other people get close- it's okay to live and love...

I'm not sure that I formed any expectations about where Shot and Presley's story would go. First of all, I didn't know either of them well enough since they were minor characters in the earlier books and secondly, the focus was more on the suspense and the shocking reveals about how Presley comes to be related to the Lawtons. I did get that they came from two very different walks of life with MC president and crime lab ME not a match up I've ever seen. For those wondering, this is not a biker romance nor is it a full-blown romantic suspense. It touches the edges of both genres, but is at heart, a small town contemporary romance.

I found their romance different in tone from the earlier ones for Presley's siblings. All those were stormy, dramatic romances with the pairs wrestling against issues between them and particularly Kody's. I was expecting something of the same even if the way they came together is different. But, instead, this pair were meeting as adults in their prime and carrying some maturity on them after what they'd been through in their pasts. They communicated and hashed things out. Oh, there were vulnerabilities and differences of opinion to be worked through including how people like them could work. The drama came from outside them and that offered plenty of conflict to keep this story pacing along. Pres and Shot were slowburn and then combustible. I loved the way they brought out the best in each other and saw the best in each other, too.

Blacklisted wrapped everything up for the series and brought everything to a fabulous close. I look forward to seeing what comes next from the author, but in the meantime, I will turn my eye back to her older series that I've heard mentioned before. Those who enjoy spicy contemporary romance with a large dollop of suspense and family should give this series a go.

I rec'd this book from Forever via Net Galley to read in exchange for an honest review.

Blacklisted begins where we left off in Unforgiven: the good doctor Presley saving the motorcycle club president's life. And now he owes her one 😏

I was honestly salivating for Presley's romance with badass biker Shot. I just looooove a good girl x bad boy romance 🥵 Presley is in hiding because her former best friend turned out to be a psychopath determined to ruin her life. Now she's got Shot and his boys keeping an eye on her.

Y'all, idk why, but bad boys in books do it for me 😩 Shot 🥵 He is so unexpectedly sweet underneath the scary tattoos. The way he coaxes Presley to lean on him. The way he texts her everyday to remind her to eat and to take a break. The way he's always looking out for her because he knows she's scared 🥺 What a man.

Obviously we've got an opposites attract romance here. She's a renowned medical examiner and he's an outlaw. So how does a couple like this even work? Trust me, it works. The HEA is interesting actually, especially given how different Presley and Shot are from each other and how their professional lives may possibly intersect.

The climax was bloodier than I had expected. It was also frustrating because it could have been less bloody if only the idiot men had communicated their plan to the women 🤦🏽‍♀️ Anyway, I loved seeing Presley interacting with her newfound siblings, especially with Case and Crew.

Lastly, I just want to note that the motorcycle club portion is more of a subplot. The author doesn't go into much detail as to how the club operates. We do get some scenes here and there, but the story is mostly focused on relationships: Shot's relationship with his club members, Presley's relationship with her siblings, and Shot and Presley's hot romance 🔥

Thank you Forever Romance for my complimentary copy.

I’m a big fan of Jay Crownover and have read many of her books, so I was thrilled to get a chance to read Blacklisted, the third book in the Loveless, Texas series. I could read The Saints of Denver series over and over again. Unfortunately, this one just didn’t work as well for me. It was still a good entry in her usual trope of good girl falls for bad boy, even though it felt like something was missing. Perhaps it is a possibility that I am growing away from these types of stories.

With that said, I did enjoy learning more about Shot, his background, and what made him tick. As a lover of bad boys, I relished seeing his realization that a woman was bringing him to his knees. He didn’t come off as a jerk as many of the main characters do, which probably isn’t realistic, but it is good escapism. I also was pleased to see Presley come out of her shell and come into her own.

I gave this book three stars, and my sincere thanks go to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book. I very much look forward to Jay’s next book.

After giving book 2 another change I was in the mood for more Loveless so of course I dove head first into book 3 and wow did it deliver.
Shot and Presley are FIRE no joke these two are made for each other. I loved the dynamic of him and her.
They shouldn’t fit but they do. I love how he softens for her, and how she blooms for him. But she also isn’t afraid to be who she is with him & vise versa. I am loving them.

I am sad the series is over but so worth the listen both of the narrators go above and beyond. They really bring this series to life.

I'm sad I'm done. I want more so badly. I loved this whole series so much and this was a great close to it and while I enjoyed it, my heart will live with book one.

Motorcycle romances are some of my favourite but it was nice to not be completely absorbed into the club for once. Shot was instead sucked into Pres' world and we saw more of his adjusting vs hers.

Will I read more romantic suspense? Probably. I do not want to stop.

Thanks to her quiet nature and her mother’s longtime illness, medical examiner Dr. Presley Baskin has lived quietly and with few friends for her whole life, but all that changes when she learns she’s part of the Lawton family. The Lawtons are well-known in small town Loveless, Texas, and the tightknit family has brought their new half-sister into their rather chaotic fold. This acceptance is how she winds up stitching up Shot Caldwell, her half-sister’s friend, despite her qualms about his less than legal activities. Once she’s certain he’ll pull through, Presley wants nothing more than to steer clear of the president of the rough and tumble biker club based just outside town. She works directly with law enforcement after all and he is decidedly a law unto himself. But when her former best friend turned stalker seems to be moving closer, Presley only trusts Shot to keep her safe. He owes her a favor after all.

Palmer Caldwell, better known as Shot, has never been one for any serious relationship. His lifestyle typically precludes them. But he hates owing anyone and while he waits anxiously for Presley to call in her favor, he finds his protectiveness of her is like nothing he’s ever felt before. When she finally does ask for his help, Shot realizes this has gone beyond reciprocity and he’ll do anything to ensure her safety.

This book is unlike anything I’ve read before, but I was so intrigued by the description and cover that I wanted to give it a try. Shot wound up being an amazing protective alpha hero, even with all his very rough edges. It was nice to see him vindicated here and for Presley’s family to give him credit where it was due. Presley was frustrating for me in her tendency to hide and her inability to communicate, even if it was understandable. Even at the end I still didn’t feel like she quite had her priorities in line where Shot was concerned, and she didn’t fully understand the true depth of his feelings for her. This left me just a bit dissatisfied, like she wasn’t quite as invested as he was. The final action scene also didn’t pan out quite like I was hoping, and I think it could’ve been handled a bit differently to give Shot more of a chance to shine. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the writing here and this book was delightfully fast paced. I couldn’t put it down and I haven’t been able to truly say that about a book in some time. I think anyone who has ever felt like they didn't quite fit in can find something to relate to here. I enjoyed this writing a lot and the Lawton family was entertaining enough that I’d like to go back and read the other books of the series to fill in the gaps I missed.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“Blacklisted” by Jay Crownover was a quick, easy read. I wanted to read about Presley and Shot since reading the previous book in the series, “Unforgiven.” We get a little background from events that happened in the previous books, and you can read this as a standalone, but I definitely recommend reading the first two books.

I wasn’t a big fan of the POV style in this book; it made it really hard for me to connect with the characters. There was too much internal dialogue and recapping of events instead of showing what’s happening in the story. I’ve loved Jay Crownover’s books for years so I’m not sure why I had such a tough time with this one. Overall, I enjoyed the story but I found myself skimming more than anything.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

An ill-advised romance between a frosty and self sufficient doctor and a tattooed, dark and twisty motorcycle club president is complicated by longstanding threats. I kept having flashbacks to Sons of Anarchy and we all know how that turned out— spoiler alert, for the TV show, not the book, not well! Otoh, that’s the beauty of the romance genre in books— this time it works out well. A very enjoyable suspenseful read nonetheless despite my misgivings.
